PICARO(S)

Born near Paris in 1992, Picaro(s)  is a French-Canadian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, producer, and live-looping performer based in Vienna. Known as the pioneer of Wiener Chanson, he seamlessly blends vocals, beatboxing, guitar, synthesizers, and live-looping into immersive, high-energy solo performances.

The Journey: From Streets to Main Stages

 

Picaro’s musical story began in 2013 on the streets of Sydney, Australia. It is this raw, busking-bred origin that gives his music its irresistible spontaneity, warmth, and authenticity. Hitchhiking across continents with nothing but a guitar, he learned his craft directly from the streets, capturing the spirit of a true global traveler.

Over the last decade, Picaro(s) has transitioned this street-level magic onto major Austrian and international stages, bridging the gap between intimate terraces, weddings, and massive music festivals like Nova Rock and Frequency.

Milestones & Collaborations

 

Since launching his debut album at Vienna’s legendary jazz club Porgy & Bess (supported by Radio Superfly), Picaro(s) has become a vibrant force in the European music scene. He has collaborated and performed with prominent artists and figures, including:

• Sebastian Grimus (Saxophonist for Parov Stelar)

• Paul Gallister (Acclaimed producer for Wanda, Granada)

• Nadine Beiler (Eurovision representative)

• Ness & Fred Owusu

• Starmania 2021 (Selected finalist on Austrian national TV)

His recent full-length album, produced in Vienna alongside Paul Gallister, showcases a masterful evolution of his sound—blending soulful indie-pop, gypsy-funk, and emotional rock that he has toured from the heart of Austria all the way to French Guiana.

Music with a Conscience

 

For Picaro(s), music is an exchange of positive energy. Beyond the stage, he is deeply committed to giving back. Through benefit concerts and fundraising, he has raised over €30,000 for various charitable organizations (including the Frauenhaus Wien and Kinderhilfswerk). Driven by a love for nature, he also supports global reforestation, having personally funded the planting of over 600 trees in Portugal and France.
